Silk ties for you
Unless your wedding ends up being a last minute affair at the Elvis Chapel in Las Vegas, the groom’s wedding apparel on the big day is just as important as that chosen for the bride, and choosing good quality waistcoats, silk ties, bow ties, or cravats is essential.
In an ideal world, you will only be getting married once, so it stands to reason that your wedding day is likely to be one of the most important occasions in your adult life. For the bride, many months will be spent choosing the perfect dress and accompanying accessories such as shoes and veil, so the last thing she wants is for you to ruin her day by wearing some cheap and nasty polyester tie and waistcoat.
Even though the bride is usually the centre of attention at a wedding, the groom still needs to take a great deal of care when choosing his apparel for the big day. Firstly, he should find out the intended colour scheme for the wedding as there is no point in buying a delightful silk tie and matching waistcoat in pale blue when the bride has her heart set on a lilac and lemon-yellow colour scheme.
Once the colour scheme has been organised, the next step in the process is to decide on the style of attire the groom and male attendants are to wear. Some people prefer casual wedding attire, for example at a beach wedding, but more often than not, the groom and male attendants will be expected to wear waistcoats, bow ties, silk ties, or cravats.
How important are accessories such as cravats, bow ties, and silk ties?
Accessories such as silk ties, bow ties, and cravats offer the man his chance to make a fashion statement. Unlike a funeral or a job interview where sober understatement are the order of the day, a wedding is the ideal opportunity to splash out on a beautiful hand made silk tie, or a deliciously decadent cravat that adds a rich splash of colour to the man’s outfit.
If you are adequately organised in advance of the big day, by the time the wedding party line up for the ubiquitous wedding photographs, with the aid of some stylish silk ties, cravats, bow ties and a waistcoat or two, the day will almost certainly be one to remember!
